Went for a briefing at Mediacorp yesterday for the Subaru Challenge. They will be giving out only one WRX this year despite having 240 contestants and six cars will be used for the competition at Taka. I will be working as a marshal judging the fairness in the competition. Very interesting ah! ^^ I will have the ability and power to issue warnings / yellow cards to people on that specific car that I will be watching over. There will be a palm like sticker on the cars and if your hand is out of position a 'lil bit, a warning will be issued. 3 yellow cards on a contestant means he/she will be disqualified from the Challenge. If any point of time his/her hand leaves the sticker, it will mean disqualification also.
I think there will be 5 minutes break at 7pm, 7am, 2am, 2pm for all the contestants for them to rush to the toilet and eat some food. Heard so that there will be a big timer counting down the 5 minutes so they will be practically rushing for both essentials.
Also from past expriences from the organisers, warnings issued may cause disagreement from the contestant, contestants may start to hallucinate after long hours. Very interesting to see what will happen though, and we're expected to handle all these kinda things.
A shared exprience was a guy was staring practically at nothing, and should be hallucinating during the competition after long hours. Due to sorching sun, they had to pour water on the car to prevent the contestants' palm from getting hurt. This particular guy saw water and starting drinkin it from his palm and thus got disqualified. Poor thing, standing there for so long le then it all happened unexpectedly.
Anywayx, I will be working on three shifts on three different days. First shift is on Saturday 5pm till Sunday morning 8am. Yes yes a fugging 15 hours work for the first shift. Actually I volunteered the long hours because I get paid more doing over nights. The bad part was I have 2pm to 4pm Dragonboat training before rushing down to Taka that very day. annnddd I opted to go to Dragonboat training too because every training counts. I cannot make it to Sunday's training though because I have a shift that day in the afternoon too.
Cheerios~~ Longgg entry.
Two pictures from Camp.
Mr Hanxiong with his cap at Lecture hall ??. Watching clips from past competitions.
